Our Mission
Our mission is to convene key stakeholders from government, industry, and civil society to foster dialogue, drive partnerships, and promote ethical practices that advance mining-led development, empower local communities, and ensure long-term socio-economic and environmental sustainability across the Limpopo Province.
To gather, produce, and disseminate information on opportunities within the mining sector.
To promote trade, investment, and partnership within the mining value chain.
To facilitate robust and constructive engagement among all mining industry stakeholders.
To advocate for and promote relevant skills development and capacity building.
To support enterprise and supplier development programs.
To encourage and guide corporate social responsibility initiatives by mining companies.
To contribute to the development of policies aligned with the current and future South African mining landscape.
The LMI is designed to achieve the following key objectives:
South Africa, particularly Limpopo, is endowed with an abundance of mining resources that can be deployed to redress the triple challenges of inequality, poverty, and unemployment. However, the successful exploitation of such resources requires financial investment, technological deployment, and business & community engagement.
LMI offers a unique opportunity for various stakeholders involved in the various sectors in mining on the African continent to network, track changing trends& technologies, build relationships, make deals, and witness best practice in the private & public sector with an ultimate aim of successfully delivering mining projects.
